What the Workshop includes
The inspiration for this workshop came from a heartwarming moment last Christmas when I crafted two cashmere teddies for my sons. After all the gifts we bought and the things I made, my six-year-old declared the teddy his absolute favourite. It warmed my heart to see how much joy a simple, luxurious cashmere teddy stuffed with wool could bring him, especially considering that a store-bought version can easily cost over £100! I felt a deep sense of pride knowing I created something beautiful and high-end from what would otherwise be waste. It was a refreshing break from the consumerist frenzy that often accompanies the holiday season. I have no doubt those cashmere teddies will become cherished family heirlooms, and I’m committed to taking good care of them.
I’d love for you to join me for a fun and festive day-long sewing workshop where you’ll learn how to upcycle cashmere jumpers into stunning handmade Christmas gifts. You’ll have the chance to create cosy hats, gloves, scarves, children’s jumpers and trousers, hot water bottle covers, or even a patchwork blanket. There’s plenty of variety, and we’ll also make adorable soft toys stuffed with natural wool—absolutely no polyester here! With all tools and materials provided, this workshop is a sustainable and cost-effective way to create personalised gifts that are truly special.
Before the workshop, we can chat about your ideas to ensure everything is ready for you on the day. I’ll guide you through different patterns and am more than happy to assist with custom designs if you have something specific in mind. And, we’ll enjoy mince pies and a festive lunch together to truly get into the Christmas spirit!
Depending on what you choose to make, you should be able to create several gifts in just one day, making this workshop a wonderful and economical alternative to the usual Christmas shopping frenzy. It’s a much more enjoyable way to spend a Saturday before the holidays than trudging around crowded shops! This workshop is perfect for anyone with some sewing experience, even if it’s been a while since you last picked up a needle. Spaces are limited, so I recommend booking soon to secure your spot and get ready for a planet-friendly, handmade Christmas!

The studio is fully equipped with everything you need, plus plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep you going throughout the day!
I have a fantastic selection of cashmere jumpers in a wide range of colours ready for upcycling, including some felted pieces that are perfect for making teddies and hats. You’ll also have access to teddy bear eyes, cotton linings, thread, buttons, and all the little extras you need to get creative.
A delicious and nutritious lunch is provided, along with homemade mince pies to get you in the festive spirit. If you have any dietary requirements, just let me know when booking.
The studio is stocked with high-quality, well-maintained sewing machines, as well as an overlocker, which can be especially useful when working with cashmere and its stretchy knit texture.
