What the Workshop includes
Due to popular demand, I’m delighted to introduce an introduction to the art of darning workshop! This session is something I’m really excited about, as it ties in perfectly with the studio’s values of beauty through intention and sustainability. Come along and join us for a relaxing morning of mindful stitching, where you’ll learn how to save your much-loved jumpers while adding a personal touch with visible mending and embellishments.
You’ll be guided through the process—from selecting colours and designs to choosing the right yarns and tools. You’ll be introduced to four darning techniques: cross weave, Swiss darning, Scotch darning, and using a darning loom, which is a fun way to experiment with different designs.
What’s included:
All darning tools and materials will be provided. If you have a favourite jumper in need of repair, feel free to bring it along and we can look at it together. If you’re a beginner, I’d recommend starting with some of the wool we have at the studio for practice.
We’ll have plenty of quality teas and proper coffee, along with a tasty slice of something sweet to keep us going while we stitch.
There will also be a variety of wool in different colours available for your darning. If you have any special wool or remnants from previous knitting projects, do bring them along!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am here to help!
